18 YEARS: Cathy and I met for a Match.com date on September 29th, 2002. We went to Florence for a week at the end of October. I proposed on the flight home. On December 29th we were married on Pass-a-grille Beach, where I was the fourth generation Simmons to own a home.
The Reception was at the Pass-a-grille Yacht Club where my Grandfather had been Commodore in 1936. My brother David, Dad, Janie, Aunt Jane and Uncle Bill have all passed.
In 2005 we sold our beach cottage, the Niagara, to our neighbor Howard and moved to big log home with 10 acres on the border of the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. In 2107 we moved full time to Casa Amarillo in San Miguel de Allende.
In 2018 we moved into Casa Artista, the Mexican colonial style dream home we designed and had built. Now we ain’t goin’ no where!
