TOPLESS DANCER? (#24): The suspense starts to build!

Re: Snail mail 10/1/02

Well, Mr Simmons…The press kit is in the mail. Now it is my turn to cross my fingers. Your friend is right, you just have to keep going and know that everything will work out. I too am at a strong and good place in my life. I very much enjoyed our conversation last night. You are a delightful person. It was so easy to talk with you after the first nervousness was over.

I guess we wait and see if my photos cause you to swoon with delight and amazement. Cathy

NOTE: We talked again that night and the next morning. I told her this seemed like something happening in a movie. I also told her about a movie I had helped produce in the mid-1980’s, “Worm Killer’s Last Spring.” ( My idea of being a director/producer isn’t a new one. I’ll do a separate post on the movie!) This is why Cathy suggested idea of a “script revision” in her next email. As far as I know, Cathy never worked as a topless dancer, but I brought plenty of $1s just in case. NOTE: The last sentence is my poor attempt at a joke.

Re: Snail mail. 10/2/02

Hope your walk on the beach was nice. I have a script revision. The heroine is a topless dancer who is working to support herself because she is a starving artist. She is very talented, but hasn’t found the right connections. Played by Meg Ryan of course. When she meets you through the Internet, she is surprise to find that our hero was the Executive Director of the Salvador Dali Museum and has connections galore. She is discovered, quits her night job and they go to the Maldives after her first big show sells out! How does that sound? Flashdance meets Sleepless in St. Pete!I

t was nice to hear your voice this morning. Hope the mail comes today. If not, anticipation is kind of a rush as long as you don’t hyperventilate.Breathe!!!!!! Cathy

NOTE: This is the end of our email courtship. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed reliving the adventure. If you missed anything, go back to our wedding pictures that I posted on December 29th, our 18th Anniversary. Then you can pick up the story with Chapters 1 through 7, beginning on January 5th. Thank you for your interest and kind comments!
